Life Cycle
Female potter wasps live for about six weeks, in which she constructs about 15-20 nests. These resemble pots, thus giving these wasps their name. These are constructed out of saliva and mud. In these chambers are a single egg, and paralyzed insects the mother has hunted in order to serve as food for the developed offspring. After a few weeks, the pupa develops into a wasp, and forces its way out of the nest, after feeding on the paralyzed insect. There is no interaction between the parent and the larvae.
